Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

You’re Sony ambassadors, Do i have to bring a Sony camera?

No! Feel free to bring whatever camera you choose. The more familiar you are with your camera, the better results you’ll get.

What skill level is required to attend?

All photography levels are welcome, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro.

What fitness level is expected?

Low. This trip involves no hiking, so you’ll just need to be comfortable being outside for extended periods and you will be fine!

What is the age range of the group?

All ages are welcome! We typically have a variety of ages, but we’ve had participants ranging from their teens all the way through their 80s.

What are the accommodations like?

All three of our lodging locations are very nice. The Pangolin Chobe Hotel is a brand new game lodge on the banks of the beautiful Chobe river with a full staff and wonderful kitchen. Dinaka and Kanana Camps are not as rustic as their names would lead you to believe. You’ll be sleeping in a canvas tent at night, but with an amazingly comfortable bed, unlimited hot tea and coffee and even a warm water bottle to help keep you warm at night!

How cold will it be?

June is winter in Botswana but the low elevation and latitude make for quite pleasant temperatures. Come prepared for high 40’s farenheight in the morning, and low 80’s in the afternoon.

The Kalahari is high desert, so temperatures can range from freezing to quite warm. Come prepared for a broad range, and check the weather as the date approaches. As the sun goes down, it will get quite chilly, so please bring layers. The camp provides blankets and hot water bottles to snuggle on the morning game drives.

Is this going to be the most fun I've ever had?

Yes. It's very likely you'll never recover, and may struggle to attain this level of happiness ever again. Life will be bleak after this workshop and you'll be craving the next opportunity to hang out with Nate and Autumn in the wild. Fret not, little one, more workshops are around the corner!
